What is ETCADA? What do we do? Why does it matter?
These are crucial questions. While I could share the history of ETCADA, or recount how we’ve been proudly serving the 23 counties of Region 4 in North East Texas for over 65 years, that only scratches the surface. I could highlight the remarkable individuals who built this organization—a legacy of compassion, dedication, and resilience. I could dive deep into the numerous programs and services we offer on a daily basis. Yet, time would fall short to adequately express the depth of our commitment and the incredible team that tirelessly works to address the challenges faced by those in our care. There are countless success stories of individuals who have walked through our doors, sought our help, and gone on to make meaningful contributions to this organization and their communities. But beyond all of that, one question remains: What does it all mean?
It means making a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Some days, it could be the difference between hope and despair, between survival and giving up. It impacts individuals, families, and entire communities. Because the truth is, there is no part of this world untouched by the effects of substance misuse, crime, or broken families. The consequences are far-reaching.
And that's where we come in: a beacon of hope for those who are weary, who are searching for someone to listen, and who need a helping hand. We offer essential services—such as recovery support, youth services, prevention programs, and behavioral health services—while confronting the opioid crisis head-on. In doing so, we collaborate with other community organizations, knowing that together, we can make a tangible difference.
We will never stop. We will never give up. We will continue to do our part, because we believe in the power of hope and change.
With unwavering commitment,
