As an integral part of our comprehensive prevention program, ETCADA is dedicated to the philosophy that substance use prevention, though primarily geared toward youth, is needed across the lifespan. In addition to evidence-based curriculum for youth, ETCADA offers a variety of community engagement education and alternative activities for all age groups including youth, adults, and senior citizens.
Some examples of ETCADA’s community engagement prevention activities are Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD) Presentations, Alternative Activities, and Literature / Information Dissemination.
ETCADA’s community engagement prevention activities may include Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD) Presentations on the State's four main prevention priorities:
Our presentations are carefully crafted to run for about 30 minutes, catering to the specific age group in attendance. Our primary objective is to enlighten individuals about the detrimental effects and health hazards associated with substance use, while also fostering a culture of positive behavioral health within the community at large.
Examples of alternative activities:
As part of our prevention efforts, ETCADA stocks a substantial amount of literature and information on various drug and mental health topics that are available for free to the community upon request.
